Rune Factory 4~ by ShotgunRaine Rune Factory 4~ by ShotgunRaine

So I've been playing Rune Factory 4 and, like, I LOVE the game.

I haven't gotten to horse boy Dylas yet, I really want to, but I know the guy is amazing xDD him and Leon~ From the screenshots, they look pretty fun
And Vishnal is played by Vic Mignogna C: Vishnal is this butler who's all 'I'm gonna be the best butler ever!' and is cute and makes me laugh because he literally reminds me of Tamaki Suoh from Ouran High School Host Club (mostly because the voice but his personality as well) and I will argue that he's a WAY better butler than Sebastian from Black Butler (I dislike Sebastian strongly)

ANYWAY! I was bored - I never fanart - I felt like fanarting - so I fanarted
End of story :iconshrugsplz:

Oh yeah, first picture of 2014!!! Yeee~

ShotgunRaine Featured By Owner Jan 23, 2014

RF4 is definitely the best in the series so far (for me at least). I can't wait for you to get to Dylas; hs blsh face is one of the cutest things EVER! :D

Ah, I love Rune Factory 4, Vishnal is wonderful~

had also been thinking of drawing him but I almost never do fanart either and I just

feel strange drawing another character.

ShotgunRaine Featured By Owner Jan 2, 2014

Vishnal is too adorable for words xDD and that game is amazing~

I know right! It's weird and then you don't wanna make them look stupid....
it just doesn't feel right. Like, you've gotta get everything right and perfect and all

Miharu-chan10 Featured By Owner Jan 2, 2014  Student General Artist

I agree, Vishnal definitely beats Sebastian in a butler-off in so many ways! x3

Exactly, the thought of doing fan art terrifies me because even though I might want to draw my favorite

whatever/whomever, I do not want to make them all weird-looking and regret trying it, along with the possible criticism of how it "looks nothing like them so I just kind of resist the urge. :icononistressplz:

But y'know what? Having this conversation kind of makes me want to draw fan art of something! I do not know what yet. And hey, I

might even fail to go through with it. But I will try probably something. :icondontunderstandplz:

Yes! Oh my gosh he does! Sebastian can't even compare to the awesome butlerness of Vishnal!

Yeah. It's'd be way cool to do it, but then you think about how there are some people out there that'll totally make you feel bad because you forgot something or you accidentally moved something or some other random third thing...when all you really want to do is show your love for that character or whatever.

Awesome! That's great! I kinda feel like uping my fanarting a little too, so I might just do some too C: I bet when you do do it, it'll look great

Miharu-chan10 Featured By Owner Jan 3, 2014  Student General Artist

Psshh, who says a butler has to be a stern figure with no sense of personality and an emotionless

obsession for the master? Certainly not Vishnal! Like seriously, Vishnal is like the perfect moe butler!

Man some people, some people. In order to avoid any of that kind of unnecessary

pointing out of the slightest differences, I just let my fear take over and do not do it, mhm. I

actually used to draw my favorite characters from whatever I was into all the time and

was so used to it that it felt and looked really normal because that was all I would do, but that was

a really really long time ago. After a while I started feeling guilty for none of it being original

so I made my own characters after that and I have been afraid of fan art ever since~ But then

again I also worry too much about what people think sometimes so that is a problem with it, too.

Well I am glad I am not alone in the whole fan arting thing. Interesting journey it will be, yeah? :icononiskiplz:

I know a lot of what you do is original, but you seem like someone who would do better with fan art

than I would. I need to conjure up a great deal of confidence, and then after that a great deal of

motivation, and then after that, the skill and time to be able to get it right and accurate.

Something about your style is different to where even though it might not look exactly like the character

in every detail down to their exact height or have the precise art style as the original creator,

you can still tell just who it is and it has a sense of originality to it. Ugh. I tried to make that a compliment

ShotgunRaine Featured By Owner Jan 3, 2014

Exactly! You read my mind~ C:

Yeah, it was those thoughts that kept me from ever really doing it...and the few times I did, I'd have to study that one picture for hours and try to make it perfect. I'd eventually give up...
As you did, I didn't want to only draw other characters, so I made up my own, so then I wouldn't muck up how they looked (I still do though haha)

But yeah, it'll be a very interesting journey :iconba-kyunplz: but we'll get through it~

Oh's really nice of you! That totally sounds like a compliment to me! :iconblushingtamakiplz: I...never thought of it that way, I never really thought I had a style to be honest haha but I think you could do fine too! Really! Working up the confidence and all is probably the hardest part...and I think you just gave me some to do the fanart I kinda wanted to do

I actually have a lot of reasons why I started doing original characters, the two biggest reasons being 1.Like I said, I felt guilty for not being completely original and 2. Probably the biggest thing that got me into it, I started drawing my own manga series in fifth or sixth grade and I had the huge blinding ambition of becoming a mangaka and I was really enthusiastic about it. I would draw a short manga every month with a personal deadline using my own characters OR, since I was a Narutard, my favorite Akatsuki mmembers, or both. But I started out drawing doujinshi of my favorite anime if I felt like it, I would read a bunch of it, too. I would work on up to six series of my own at once because I was just that serious about it. I still have all the stuff that I did, is just painful to look at now. Eh, I thought I was going somewhere by saying all that but it seems kind of pointless now that I typed it all out. Either way, to make an excruciatingly long story short, in May of my Ninth Grade year, I suddenly lost all enthusiasm that I had for becoming that great mangaka I wanted to be and I just went back to drawing whatever. And here I am now!

To me, art styles are what make a person's drawing unique and they tell about the person who drew it. The way you draw is pretty unique in terms of an art style, is different from a lot of peoples' drawings that I see. It kind of looks in between chibi and regular sized characters. Again, that was supposed to be a compliment. I am not very good at this >///< Me, I never thought I had much of an art style either. There is just not much that sets the way I draw apart from the typical "anime style" that everyone does. But whatever, I am glad that I was able to motivate you to draw something fan art-related like you wanted! I am still trying to think of something myself. For the last few days when I tried to do it it has just ended up leaning towards original things, grahh! I will think of somethingeeventually, hopefully. :iconimsotiredplz:

I actually used to wanna draw comics too, but I was too lazy to keep them up haha.
I never really did anything I liked back then, I was just trying to get better, so most of the pictures are random and forgotten. They meant nothing.
It was only after I got slightly inspired by a song did I start making my original characters legit and make sense with a story, at that was literally two or so years ago C:

Ah, I get it...and that sounds like a compliment too haha I actually always wanted to draw somewhat like the set 'anime style' I even kinda wanted to draw like you because I thought it was better than what I did...I never thought of what I did as different in a good way, I thought it was all I could do and the closest I could get to what I originally wanted...but now, I guess, I'll stick with it!

Haha, I know you'll get there! It'll come to you~

I know I already said that before, but I like your style, Raine.
ShotgunRaine Featured By Owner Jan 2, 2014
Aww geez :iconaawplz: thank you so much~
To be honest, I never thought I had a style
